About the cocktail

Bloody Mary – cocktail or scary.
It is said that the cocktail is prepared at Harry’s Bar, Paris. According to one version, the cocktail is served first by french bartender Ferdinand Petit as early as 1920 – 1921. He first mixed vodka, tomato juice, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Later, already in the hotel “Saint Ridzhis” New York, the final touch to cocktails at the request of Prince Serge Sobolenski, adding Tabasco. According to some, this cocktail owes its name to Mary I Tudor called Bloody Mary. This Queen is the daughter of Henry VIII, reigned for several years and is known for its bloodlust. According to others, the name was invented at Harry’s Bar, Paris, where he prepared for the first time. The latest version is that he owes his name to Ernest Hemingway, who was afraid of violent outbursts of his wife, Mary Welch. This is one of Ernest Hemingway’s favorite drink.   • 40 ml Vodka
  • 100 ml Tomato juice
  • 5 ml Lemon juice
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Dashes of tabasco
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Celery


Add some ice cubes into a tall glass. Mix the tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and pour into the ice-filled glass. Stir very well and decorate with a celery stalk and a lemon slice.
